Weird Ending: For this, you need to start with a completely fresh game. From there, open the game and go to the title screen. Once there, don't do anything, and instead navigate to the character file folder and delete the 'monika.chr' file as you would in the bad ending. Then start the new game.

Doki Doki Literature Club is considered to be one of, if not the, greatest horror games of all time, available on Windows PCs only. Having said that, this one’s a little different compared to your average horror video game: there are no zombies trying to eat your brains, and there certainly aren’t any ridiculous monsters, either. Alternatively, Doki Doki Literature Club is a free-to-play psychological horror/visual novel video game. So, rather than scaring the crap out of you, the game will probably mentally disturb you instead.

But that’s all part of the fun, right? 😱

With all of that said, this psychological horror game has multiple endings that you may not even be aware of. This is why we have decided to list all of the Doki Doki Literature Club endings for you to discover. Of course, as we will be discussing the possible endings, we must warn you that this article does, in fact, contain spoilers.

Important Warning:Due to the nature of the Doki Doki Literature Club, we must also warn you that we will be discussing topics that some readers may find distressing.

Doki Doki Literature Club Bad Ending

This is the main ending that most players will encounter while playing Doki Doki Literature Club for the first time. This is due to the fact that you don’t actually have to do much to achieve this ending—you essentially just have to reach the end of the game. Once you begin a new game, Sayori will eventually thank you for deleting Monika who then decided to delete everything in DDLC.

As the credits roll, Monika will then sing a song before leaving a note on your screen. If you wish to play the game again after this occurs, you will have to delete and reinstall the Doki Doki Literature Club. If you don’t wish to install the game again, you can simply delete the “firstrun” file found in the DDLC folder.

Doki Doki Literature Club Quick Ending

If you’re new to the game and you wish to test it out, you may prefer the Doki Doki Literature Club quick ending. This occurs after Satori realizes that she’s trapped in the game after Monika’s character file is erased. In turn, she forces the game to close, deleting every other character file in DDLC which causes the game itself to end.

If you attempt to open up Doki Doki before 10 minutes has passed, a black screen will appear before you see Sayori hanging. After 10 minutes, a message will appear on your screen that reads: “Now everyone can be happy.”

Doki Doki Literature Club Character Endings

Each and every character in Doki Doki Literature Club has its very own ending that we have conveniently listed below. But before you dive into the list, you must first understand that some of these aren’t necessarily “endings”. Rather, they are events that can be discovered by simply playing DDLC. With that said, let’s start off with Natsuki’s “ending”, shall we?

Natsuki’s Ending

While Natsuki’s “ending” is technically an optional occurrence, it certainly belongs on this list of Doki Doki Literature Club endings. This event will occur if you write two poems for her in the first couple of days of Act 2. On the third day, Natsuki will realise that you’re spending far too much time with Yuki, which in turn, causes her to become jealous and glitch out.

After spending some time complaining about how she wants to be played with, the room grows silent before she breaks her neck. Dramatic much? As this isn’t really a DDLC ending, the game eventually resumes and restarts as normal with Natsuki still alive.

Sayori’s Ending

Sayori’s ending is an unavoidable event that occurs halfway through Doki Doki Literature Club. No matter what choices you make as you play this psychological horror game, you will eventually see Sayori hanging in her bedroom. Once you see her, Doki Doki Literature Club will start glitching out and strange music will begin to play.

As with the other character endings, Sayori’s inevitable death is spine-chilling, to say the least.

Yuri’s Ending

This is another unavoidable event that sadly leads to the end of Yuri’s life. This happens during Act 2 where you’ll be shown a poem in which Yuri confesses her love to the protagonist. As with Sayori’s ending, Yuri will eventually end her life using a kitchen knife, regardless of the choices you previously made in the game.

You will then be forced to stay in the same room as her for the weekend as a dialog box repeatedly shows random shapes and letters.

Monika’s Ending

After being forced to spend the weekend with Yuri’s corpse, Natsuki eventually finds you in the room with her body. As a result, she runs away in shock, just as any sane human being would do. Once she has entered, Monika will then delete every other character file in the game—not including her own, of course.

Now that everyone else is gone, Monika will appear sat in the classroom explaining how she manipulated DDLC so that the protagonist is left alone with her.

At this point, you can decide whether or not you wish to delete Monika from the game. If you decide to (and we highly recommend doing so), Monika will glitch out and explain how she regrets deleting her friends from the game. Eventually, she adds everyone else back to Doki Doki Literature Club aside from herself—a bittersweet ending if I do say so myself.

Doki Doki Literature Club Good Ending

After all of those gruesome endings, you’re probably wondering: “Does this game include a nicer ending?” Well, in order to find the good ending, you must first fix the Doki Doki Literature Club file after the tragic Monika ending.

Once you have done that, you must play through the game three times in order to unlock all of the character cutscenes before Act 1.

You can unlock these cutscenes by charming and appealing to the girls in the game, which can be achieved by writing them poetry and confessing your love to them.

Sound corny? I know.

Albeit, poems are a massive part of the Doki Doki Literature Club since they are the main gameplay element in the game. These poems can be created by picking out words that the specific character likes. Due to this fact, each set of words and poems will be different depending on the character: some are simple, while others are much more complex.

Conclusion

Doki Doki Literature Club is a psychological horror/visual novel game with several different endings for you to discover. For that exact reason, we here at Game Gavel decided to list every Doki Doki Literature Club ending in this exciting free-to-play Steam game.
