Rainbow Six 3 Mod Average ratng: 7,3/10 3573 reviews

I used to have Rainbow 6/Athena Sword when it first came out all those years ago, and back in the day I downloaded some great maps and some weapon sight mods and a good blood mod as well. I purchased the gold addition yesterday and realsied that I am no longer as good as I used to be, but the main thing I am wondering is there a way to add mods to a steam game and how do you do it if there is?

Elite Counter-Terror is a mod for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, created by Ac11b.

Description (in author’s own words)

Shoot. Move. Communicate. Kill. This is Elite-Counter-Terror.

FEATURES:

Upgraded AI for both Rainbow and terrorists, using a combo of well-known mods and my own ideas. Rainbow teammates will now use hand-signals, as the start of an effort to create 'noise discipline' in the game, and they will also have a tighter formation. Terrorists will now patrol and be even more lethal. And if they surrender, you better secure them fast because they will not stay down long!

Dozens of powerful new sounds for many weapons and gadgets, with the help of Mikson. More on the way!

New hardened enemies created by myself, to go along with dozens of other fan-made models. The armored mercenaries featured in my video are available as a stand-alone download as well.

New template files for every mission, to give variety and more accurate enemy types based on the map and plot. Several small refinements have been made since the last version.

Fully integrated with Twi's Supply Drops and OpenRvS. Experience awesome new weapons and optics and installation is now done in 1 quick step. All you need is Iron Wrath. Mathematica for mac catalina.

Also check out my guides on template editing and increasing the number of enemies in custom missions to get the ultimate experience!

Instructions:

The only pre-requirement is Iron Wrath, the 2nd official expansion which adds dozens of incredible maps and characters, available on ModDb. Athena Sword should also be installed, which is done by default if you have the Gold edition. I do recommend an otherwise clean install**

Easy Install:

1. Open my 'Rainbow Six 3 Gold-ETC' folder, and copy all folders into your Ravenshield directory, they will automatically be placed where they are needed. Confirm to overwrite any files if prompted.

**If you are installing over a previous version, just simply overwrite all existing files.

2. Run the game and go the settings menu and look for the 'custom game' tab, ALWAYS activate 'Elite Counter-Terror' BEFORE you activate AS/IW, and then start your campaign or custom mission. Only activate AS/IW if you are playing the actual campaigns, the mod will automatically unlock ALL maps in the Ravenshield custom mission menu. Refer to the mission overiews in the section at the bottom of this guide.

NOTE: Playing on 'Elite' difficulty is meant to be extremely challenging and punishing, more so then vanilla. If an enemy sees you and you have not fired yet, you are probably dead. And it better be at their head, because that is where they will aiming. That is the standard that operatives of this caliber must train to.

Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield may be nearly 15 years old but that hasn’t stopped one modder creating an upgrade which claims to overhaul enemies, weapons, AI, and sound, and even make your squad communicate with hand signals.

Elite Counter-Terror is a single-player modification for Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield created by ModDb user ac11b.

The mod introduces an upgraded AI for both Rainbow soldiers and terrorists, bringing Raven Shield into the modern age. Rainbow teams can use hand-signalling and have tighter formations, keeping sound to a minimum and demonstrating the height of precision. However, terrorists are much more lethal, as are all the game’s enemies. And, if you are able to convince an enemy to lay down their weapons, you better secure them quickly or else they’ll rally and get back into the fight.

The addition of new template files for every mission also means enemies will be more varied and enemy types will be more accurate to the map and plot being played.

Alongside hard-as-nails enemies, the game’s sound has been drastically improved with the addition of “dozens of powerful new sounds for many weapons and gadgets”. When combined with other mods, Elite Counter-Terror also improves the game’s visuals and adds new weapons.

Considering the serious lack of single-player mode in Rainbow Six Siege, apart from occasional Situations, it may be that going back to Raven Shield is preferable for the lone wolves among us who want to feel young again.
